In the coldest day so far we were out and rewarded with this magnificant bald eagle perched over Big Creek in Brazos Bend State Park.

birdshooter > Leaving Brazos Bend SP we drove north to US59 and took SH99 north to I10 west to Pederson Rd and the Katy prairie. We found two large flocks of snow geese on Patterson Rd and second bald eagle with 4-6 Crested Caracaras near the geese. From the pile of white feathers it looks like he just had Christmas goose dinner. Monday, Dec 15th was eagle day. I don't know what it is about bald eagles, you just have to stand in awe of them.
