birdshooter > Snowy Egret photographed at Brazoria NWR

The original photograph was a slide taken on Fuji Velvia at 40 ISO. The image was slightly underexposed by 1.5 stops so the white in the egret would not burn out. I was in a blind next to the pond using a Nikon F100 and Nikkor 400mm f3.5 lens.

birdshooter > Driving along FM390 in Washington County in April, these paintbrushes and bluebonnets are in display for the visitors who come up to see them.
birdshooter > Rio Grande River valley in Mineral County, Colorado looking south toward Creede from Bulldog Mountain. Each September the aspens turn gold and lights up the valley. It's as if God takes his paintbrush and dips it into gold paint and touches the sides of the mountains with the brush. Once you see this spectakle you want to see every year.

birdshooter > Red-tailed Hawk photographed in Bear Creek Park
Note the prominent black leading edges of both wings and rufous tail which are the markers for the Red-tailed Hawk.
birdshooter > This composition utilizes what is called "back light" and gives you a strong composition. This photo was switched to black and white using Smugmug. Black and White photography is not dead. It is actually better to use in certain compositions. I think B&W works well with this composition.
