birdshooter > A beginner's attempt at panoramic photography

You can see where the exposure changed in one of the images and the sky is darker. This series of photos was taken in the horizontal format, however, the vertical format would work much better. I use Serif's Quickstart Panorama Studio software which is really easy to use.
birdshooter > Maroon Bells near Aspen, Colorado
birdshooter > Maroon Bells in a panorama. This is actually three different photos stitched together with software.
birdshooter > Stopping the lens down to f22 to/or f16 produces max depth of field. You'll need a sturdy tripod because the shutter will usually fall below 1/4 sec. I am reminded of the expression,"You can't see the forest for the trees." The composition falls into the repeating patterns and can make a not so typical photograph.
birdshooter > The aspen leaves become translucent when you position yourself where the tree is backlit. The light becomes golden and makes a great photograph.
birdshooter > My wife, MA, on top of Mt. Aspen
birdshooter > Aspen trees
birdshooter > Mt. Aspen has many ski runs and is the principle draw of people to Aspen during the winter.
birdshooter > The remains of an old gold mine southeast of Aspen. The aspen trees are just beginning to change.
