birdshooter > On a birding trip to Bay City, Jay Mangum and I spotted this unfolding photo as we headed south on FM457 to San Benard NWR. Out came the cameras and tripods producing this image.

birdshooter > Probably the best photo I took at Maroon Bells of my three visits during the week. This shot was taken with a Nikon D200, Nikon 12-24 f/4 lens @ 12mm, Moose Peterson warming-polarizing filter 77mm, on a Slik carbon fiber tripod with a Slik ball head. The exposure was at f22 at 1/10th/sec with ISO 125.

If you look at some of the other shots I took earlier in the week you'll notice there are no clouds. On Friday, clouds began to appear in the sky late in the morning. The lake had been lined with photographers most of whom had folded up their tripods grabbed their cameras and left. A few of us stuck around and were rewarded with these puffy white clouds to fil in the blank blue sky. Patience is rewarding.
