Located in the historic section of Lisbon is the Elevator de Santa Justa. Designed by Raul Mesnier de Ponsard who was a student of Gustave Eiffel, designer of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Ponsard after studying under Eiffel, returned to his home city of Lisbon to design his iron masterpiece: the Elevator de Santa Justa.
The tower is 45 meters in height (seven stories) and it includes two elevator cabins, decorated in wood and mirrors.
The tower's architecture is called Neo Gothic.
