Washington County Bluebonnets
In the month of April, I'll get in my truck and just drive the back roads of Washington, Brazos, LaVaca, and others looking for compositions. This is one such photo.

Cows & Bluebonnets
Somewhere near the Willow City Loop, I stopped the car so I could take this photo. My wife had pointed out the composition. I have her trained well.
Texas Longhorn in Goldenrods and Bluebonnets
I took this photo on SH6 south of Navasota, Texas. A rancher has a couple of longhorn cattle as pets. I'm not sure these are goldenroda, maybe someone can identify them.
Lavaca County Windmill
I have no idea where in Lavaca County this is. I saw it, stopped got out with my tripod and took this image. I do know I had barbeque in Lockhart for lunch and I can take you to where I was sitting in Smitty's that day. Bluebonnets and barbeque are synonymous in Texas. What am I thinking? This is December.

Another Willow City Loop Windmill
This one is toward the end of the Loop. It could use some more bluebonnets and primroses.

The Iron Fence Along Willow City Loop
I'm going to have all of you wanting to go to Willow City in April, see ya.
Somewhere Near Willow City
My friends and I traveled from Houston to Willow City in the early hours of April 4th, 2007 arriving on the east side of Willow City. We passed this old iron gate and decided to stop for photo. We stopped many times that day. Bluebonnets hold a special place in the hearts of Texans. They blanket the Hill Country with patches of blue every year and give us something to look forward to during the cold months of winter.
Along Willow City Loop
Editing removed some wires stretching across the water. This is near the last few miles of the Loop. I wish the wind would have laid but we were blessed with a beautiful day in April. If you notice the copyright info it says Ken Rockwell. He didn't take the photo. I bought the camera from him and forgot to install my own name in the camera.
Willow City Loop
I believe this is near the beginning of the Loop
Between Fredericksburg and Llano off of SH16 is the scenic drive called Willow City Loop. It is 16 miles of Texas ranch landscape. In the month of April, the drive is known for its wildflowers. (more to follow)
Confederate Surrender
The reenactors went inside the plantation house and reenacted the surrender. I missed that one.
