  • "Last Cast" was taken on the Firehole River in Yellowstone National Park in Septemnber of 2001. The original photo was exposed on Fuji Velvia slide film with a Nikon F100 and 35mm lens.

I was an employee at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital at the time and entered their Texas Medical Center annual photo contest. The image won best of show that year and hangs in the Texas Heart Institute photo gallery. The $150 first place was not bad either.

  • Barred Owl, Brazos Bend State Park. This photo was chosen by Birder's World magazine as a photo of the week. I had called this hooter to me by just imitating a Barred Owl. He answered several hundred yards away and flew into this tree and we had a hooting conversation.
